AFAN MEDIA...in the interest of posterity!: BIG BROTHER AFRICA AND THE AFRICAN CULTURE

AFAN MEDIA...in the interest of posterity!: BIG BROTHER AFRICA AND THE AFRICAN CULTURE
Big Brother Africa Reality Show initially involve 12 counties with 2 countries added in season 4 and 2 others in season 7. Each country provides a contestant living in an isolated house while trying to avoid being evicted by viewer and ultimately winning a large cash prize at the end of the show. The show is co-produced by Edmond SouthAfrica.
Big Brother Africa is suppose to present to the world the richness of the African way of life, all that should transpire should be what can transmit a positive value to those watching the game, but the reverse is the case.
The obscene and vulgar conversation, the gossip, quarrel, arrogance, hypocritical nature of some of the house mate, and some instance were most of their body are full of tattoos, nose and tongue rings for girls, ear clips and shabby hair styles for the men, anklets and several others things which African parents consider almost a taboo for their children. Most of them what to speak rape like the Americans and the Europeans, a fact only goes a long way to highlights how we seems to be quickly emulating western culture at the expends of our rich African heritage.
Despite the fact that the show is rated a 18 and above, the morality aspect of the show and the value portrayed by it actors which includes excess smoking, alcoholism, sexual promiscuity, idleness etc. What the house mate does especially the females is more or less slap in the face of Africa dignity. It is indeed shameful that girls who should bear  flag of sacredness of Africa womanhood  drinks, smoke, and slips themselves almost nude in front of live television camera, some engage in the act better suited only for a pornographic movie.
Although the idea of co-existing is still very much in place. Some times fans still finds the theme selling and chatting away in a friendly atmosphere at times in cause of such chat good and useful ideas are exchanged, the fact that some of the house mate who misbehave to the extent of getting into a fight are punished its goes to demonstrate African cultural heritage, virtue is rewarded and vice punished. But still Big Brother Africa does not in 80%  preserve Africa cultural heritage.
